The US WPS Strategy Faces its First Real-Life Test in Afghanistan

On September 4, 2019, The Hill published a piece co-authored by OSF Director Sahana Dharmapuri and OSF Fellow Hans Hogrefe. In If the Women, Peace and Security Agenda is to be more than words, Congress must stay engaged, the authors outline the utility of leveraging the WPS Act to address modern challenges, and recommend the formation of a bipartisan Women, Peace and Security Caucus to ensure that the recently released WPS Strategy passes its first real-life test in Afghanistan.
