Women take the initiative to combat malaria in their communities.
Nearly half of the global population is at risk of contracting malaria, a disease that disproportionately affects children and pregnant women. It is for this reason and for the sake of better community-based prevention, that women need to be involved in the fight to end it. The Africa Indoor Residual Spraying Project is successfully engaging women as leaders in their communities and showing how women’s meaningful participation can help to wipe out a leading cause of mortality on the African continent. Our Secure Future is happy to share this successful example of increasing female leadership in honor of International Malaria Day.
